Conwy Sports Awards 2025 winners

Sports Awards 2025
Local sporting talent from across the county of Conwy has been celebrated at a special awards ceremony.
Conwy Sports Awards took place at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru on the 21st November to recognise and honour the talented sports people, sports clubs, coaches and volunteers from the county.
Over 330 people from a variety of sporting backgrounds attended the event, which was sponsored by Sport Conwy.
The most successful British female Olympic athlete in history, former and professional track and road cyclist, Dame Laura Kenny presented the awards to the deserving winners alongside professional sports announcer and commentator, Matt Ward who was the master of ceremonies.
Among the winners was Eirias Hockey Club Under 18 Boys and Girls who won Junior Sports Team award. Both teams have played outstanding hockey this year, are North Wales Champions and played in the national finals.
This year’s awards also saw Ysgol Craig y Don pick-up the School of the Year award for their unwavering commitment to sport, physical activity and wellbeing, both in curricular and non-curricular settings.
There were twelve categories in total, including the Special Achievement award presented to 12-year-old Charlie Sheen who completed a 75-mile running challenge last year for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and raised £6,000 for the charity.
Cllr Austin Roberts, Vice Chair of Conwy County Borough Council, who delivered the opening speech, stated:
“It was fantastic to see so many of Conwy’s sports clubs and organisations represented at the awards. All the awards on the evening reflect a whole year’s effort and commitment by a large number of people, and success on the night is a reflection of the endeavour our talented athletes have achieved.”
“A huge thanks goes to those who have sponsored the event, without them this event would not have been possible”
