Conwy Supports 'Period Proud Wales'

Period Proud Conwy
Conwy County Borough Council proudly supports Period Proud Wales, a commitment to ending period poverty.
Period Proud Conwy makes sure that no one in our communities faces stigma, hardship, or barriers to education, work, or wellbeing because of their period.
As part of the Welsh Government’s Period Proud Wales strategy, the initiative provides free, inclusive, and accessible period products for anyone who needs them, without questions or judgement.
Free period products are now available in a wide range of council buildings, including schools, libraries, leisure centres, community centres, family centres, and Coed Pella council offices.
The aim is to make access simple and discreet for all young people, families, and those on low incomes.
Cllr Hannah Fleet, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Integrated Adult Services and Human Resources, said: “We want everyone in Conwy to feel supported and confident in managing their menstrual health. No one should miss out on education, work, sport, or everyday life because they can’t access basic products.
“Our commitment goes beyond providing free products, it encourages opening positive conversations about periods, challenging myths, and empowering people to seek support.
“Period Proud Conwy is about dignity, inclusion, and breaking down stigma for good.”
