Ffit Conwy and Conwy Schools Team Up with Les Mills to Get Pupils Moving

Born to Move is an activity programme developed by Les Mills

Ffit Conwy, Conwy County Borough Council’s Leisure Team, has partnered with Les Mills, to introduce Born to Move to primary schools across the county. The initiative aims to give children and young people the chance to be more physically active during the school day.

Born to Move is an activity programme developed by Les Mills to help young people enjoy movement through music, creativity, dance, martial arts-inspired activities, mindfulness and age-appropriate fitness experiences. Schools can use the content across PE lessons, active classroom breaks, wellbeing sessions, lunchtime activities and after-school clubs. 

Speaking about the initiative, Cyng Dilwyn Roberts, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Governance Services said: “We’re in the early stages of development. Schools have been contacted and engagement is looking very positive. Our aim is to get as many young people moving and engaging with fitness in Conwy County as possible.”

Cyng Aaron Wynne, Cabinet Member for Education said: “Creating opportunities for children and young people to be active every day is essential. Through this partnership we are giving our schools resources that inspire movement, support healthy lifestyles, and help pupils thrive both inside and outside the classroom.”
