Final statue for Llandudno's Alice Trail installed

Final Alice Statue
A final statue has been installed for Llandudno’s beloved Alice Trail, which completes the refurbishment celebrating the legacy of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
Conwy County Borough Council secured funding from UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund to refurbish and repair the much-loved Alice in Wonderland statues, and the trail was officially re-launched in March 2025.
This final statue, however, has been donated by the contractors carrying out the installation – RELM Construction.
The Alice Trail held a special place in the hearts of the RELM team as Kai, a beloved nephew and grandchild, loved the trail. To honour his memory, RELM have donated the “Down the Rabbit Hole” statue located in Happy Valley.
Sadly, last month, before this final statue could be completed and installed, Edward Roberts, Kai’s grandfather and project manager at RELM, passed away. The “Down the Rabbit Hole” statue will now be a memorial to both Kai and Edward.
Cllr Nigel Smith, Cabinet Member for A Sustainable Economy, comments: “We’re thrilled to welcome visitors back to the Alice Trail. Not only does this trail celebrate the magic of Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece, but it now also includes a very special memorial and brings people and our community together in a very special way. We’d like to thank RELM for their very special donation to the trail and for all their hard work throughout the project.”
The new Alice Trail leaflet and map, which guides visitors along the trail is available to purchase from Llandudno Tourist Information Centre in the Victoria Shopping Centre.
