New resources to support children and families in North Wales

Wellbeingnorth.wales
A new website supporting the wellbeing of children and young people in North Wales has been launched at the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.
Wellbeingnorth.wales offers vital help to boost the emotional health and resilience of families – and includes lots of ideas to help the next generation grow, develop and thrive. Inspired by the Five Ways to Wellbeing, the new website encourages children, young people and their parents or carers to look for ways they can connect with others, be active and take notice of the world around them. It also invites families to consider how they can keep learning and give their time to support their community.
The site’s dedicated Explore Outside section includes a searchable map of destinations, beaches, playgrounds, woods and walks – helping families find healthy and fun places for children and young people to play outdoors.
It was officially launched on the Maes by Fôn Roberts, Chair of the Children’s Regional Partnership Board for North Wales and Director of Social Services for the Isle of Anglesey County Council, following a special wellbeing-themed performance by community dance group Dawns i Bawb.
Fôn Roberts said: “It’s a real pleasure to launch our new Emotional Health, Wellbeing and Resilience North Wales website – a vibrant and inclusive resource for children, young people, families, and professionals across North Wales.
“This is the result of collaborative work through the Children’s Regional Partnership Board and with Play Officers from across North Wales, and has been shaped by our shared Emotional Health, Wellbeing and Resilience Framework. Crucially, it is based on the experiences and voices of children, young people, families and the experienced professionals who work with them.
“I’m sure lots of busy parents will really welcome some of the great activities included in the Explore Outside area – especially chances to make the most of the fabulous natural and play resources we have across North Wales during the summer holidays!
“But we hope everyone can take up this invitation to reflect upon, explore and discover new opportunities to boost the emotional health, wellbeing and resilience of our next generation here in North Wales – whether they are a young person navigating change, a parent or carer supporting a child, or a professional guiding others.”
The new website has been developed by partners from across North Wales, including schools and education, health and children’s services.
