Gold Approval for food in Conwy's schools

The current school lunch menu, which runs until Easter 2024, has been awarded the Welsh Local Government Association's (WLGA) ‘Gold Approval Certificate of Compliance’.

Cllr Julie Fallon, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “This is the first time Conwy’s School Catering Service has applied for the compliance certificate, and we’re delighted to receive Gold Approval for the food and drink that’s served.

“The food we serve in our schools can make a positive contribution towards giving children and young people a healthy, balanced diet and encouraging them to develop good eating habits.”

The food and drink provided in all maintained schools must meet The Healthy Eating in Schools (Wales) Regulations 2013. The regulations set out nutritional standards and specify values for energy and nutrients for food and drink requirements throughout the school day.

Visit Food in Schools for more information about the food in our schools.
