Denbighshire County Council & Conwy County Borough Council have commissioned Digital Communities Wales to deliver a range of modules designed to support digital inclusion and people’s health & well-being. Please find below details of the sessions coming up, along with the links to register your place. Digital Communities Wales will send you a confirmation and a reminder about the sessions nearer the course dates.
Digital Champions Part 1: Digital Champions introduction – 1 hour:
The session will provide your group with inspiration and an introduction of what it means to be a Digital Champion.
This session will cover:
- What is a digital champion?
- Examples of inspiring activities
- What does success look like for you as a digital champion?
Tuesday 13th May 2025 | 11:30 – 12.30
Online Safety – 1 hour
This session will introduce you to the foundation online safety skills, and how to help others to build strong safe foundations of online safety while on their Digital Journey.
This session will cover:
- Keeping safe on websites
- Understanding suspicious emails
- Password safety
- Understanding online privacy
- Virus awareness
- Finding reliable information online
Along with the training we will also provide you with resources you can use to learn more about online safety.

Digital Health Literacy – 1.5 hours
Practical strategies and tools to navigate the online world of health and well-being and consider what digital skills are needed to access healthcare online.
This session will:
- Introduce online health resources, including key NHS Wales and Public Health Wales websites
- Discuss the essential digital skills required for accessing health information online
- Overview and demonstrate health and well-being digital tools
- Explore inspiring digital health and well-being tools

Inspiring digital activities – 1 hour
This session is aimed at those working in the Health and will introduce you to resources you can use to engage people with digital technology.
This session will:
- provide you with inspiration and ideas of how to run digital activities to enhance health and well-being

Reminiscence/Digital Tools to Support People Living with Dementia – 1.5 hours
Within this session we will overview how digital tools can support people living with dementia in a safe and secure way and how digital tools can provide a useful option for inspiring enjoyable conversations. This session has been developed with Effro who work with communities in Wales to change perceptions of dementia.
This session will:
- Introduce the support available from Digital Communities Wales and Effro
- Discuss how useful reminiscence can be for both engaging individuals with digital tools and stimulating discussion centred around memories
- Outline and demonstrate a number of apps relating to reminiscence that are free and engaging to use, such as BBC RemArc and YouTube
- Discuss the importance of keeping active, connected and independent
- Introduce digital tools to support independent living and well-being

Digital Accessibility – 1 hour
Designed to provide an overview about digital tools and how they can support people accessing Social Care.
This session will:
- Discuss built-in accessibility options available on a range of digital devices
- Give an overview of apps for visual and auditory support
- Give an overview of apps to support communication

Digital Champions Part 2: Engaging Your Workforce, Sharing Your Skills and Knowledge – 1 hours
Developing further the foundation online safety skills discussed in the Digital Champion’s Introduction, and how to help others support people in continuing their Digital Journey.
This session will cover:
- How to practically support empower your colleagues and individuals
- Specific tools for encouraging colleagues to engage with digital inclusion
- An overview into digital accessibility
- An overview into online safety
- Developing confidence in creating tools to continue learning
