Budget and Council Tax 2026/27

Members of Conwy County Borough Council have today (05/03/26) set the Budget and Council Tax for 2026/27.

Cllr Chris Cater, Cabinet Member for Finance and Strategic Planning, introduced the report to the meeting of the Council. Watch the discussion at: Council on Thursday, 5 March 2026

The Council approved the Budget and set the Council Tax for 2026/27.

This means a Council Tax increase of 6.09% to fund Council services and a 0.41% increase to fund the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service levy, which is a combined increase of 6.5%.

Based on a Band D Council Tax, that’s an increase of £115.01 (£2.21 per week) for Council services and an increase of £7.74 (£0.15 per week) for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service levy. That’s a combined increase of £122.75 (£2.36 per week), which raises the Band D equivalent Council Tax to £2,011.26.

The actual level of Council Tax chargeable for an individual property will depend on the valuation band for the property, the precept for the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, and the Town / Community Council where the property is situated.
