Celebrating Youth Work Week 2026
Conwy County Borough Council is lending its support to Youth Work Week 2026.
The week is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the vital role youth work plays in supporting young people across the county.
Between 23 - 30 June, Conwy Youth, Engagement and Belonging Service will promote how non-traditional sports are used as a powerful tool to engage young people. These activities are used as effective tools to engage young people, create opportunities for connection, encourage positive conversations, and support their mental health and wellbeing.
Open access and targeted youth clubs across the county will offer a range of creative and inclusive activities, giving young people safe and welcoming spaces to connect, express themselves and develop new skills.
The week will also highlight partnership working with The Urdd, providing opportunities for young people to engage through the medium of Welsh and strengthen their connection with Welsh language and culture.
Cllr Aaron Wynne, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education with responsibility for the Youth Engagement and Belonging Service, said: “Youth work plays a vital role in supporting young people across Conwy, helping them build confidence, develop new skills and feel a sense of belonging.
“Youth Work Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the dedication of our youth workers and to highlight the positive impact they have every day. It’s also a chance for our communities to see how we’re engaging young people in creative and meaningful ways, including through activities that support their wellbeing and encourage them to thrive.”
Residents, families and partners are encouraged to get involved and see first-hand the positive impact of youth work in our community.
