Conwy Youth, Engagement and Belonging Service has begun the process to renew their Bronze, Silver and Gold Quality Marks in Youth Work in Wales.

The primary goal of the Quality Mark process is to celebrate youth work and its positive impact on young people lives. Conwy Youth Service is the proud holder of a Gold Quality Mark, after achieving the status in 2023. The Award remains valid for three years.

The Youth Service has begun the process to retain their Gold standard beyond the end of the current three-year period. The Award is given in sequence: first achieving Bronze renewal, then Silver and finally the Gold Award. As a first step the Service recently achieved the Bronze level renewal after submitting self-assessment and supporting evidence to meet the criteria. The Youth Service team will be working on the requirements for the Silver Award early next year, with the aim of achieving their target Gold by the end of 2026 current Award comes to an end.

Councillor Julie Fallon, Cabinet Member responsible for the Youth Service, said, “Our Youth Service is justifiably proud of its Gold status. It’s thanks to the dedicated staff in the team, who are working hard on keeping the high standard of provision as they now begin to work towards retaining this coveted Gold Award. The Bronze Award renewal is the first stage. I congratulate the team and wish them well as they work towards the Silver Award and retaining the Gold.

“Around 300 attendees take part in sessions every week, and the Youth Service team can be proud of the impact they are having on young people’s lives.”

Conwy Youth Engagement and Belonging Service is for young people aged 11-24 living in Conwy County. It provides a range of services including youth clubs and activities, opportunities to undertake DofE (Duke of Edinburgh Award), employability support and wellbeing advice.
