Pupils urged to remember their passes to travel on school and college transport

‘No pass, no travel'

Conwy County Borough Council is reminding pupils and parents that bus passes need to be shown for all journeys on school and college transport.

To make sure pupils entitled to travel have a seat, and that there is sufficient capacity on every bus, the ‘no pass, no travel' policy is enforced from the first day back to school in September.

Cyng Aaron Wynne, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education explains:

“‘No pass, no travel’ is  a message we remind everyone of at the start of term.

“The system has been in place for many years, and we’ve been in touch with schools and parents, including new users of school buses. We need to make sure that every eligible child can travel safely in their own seat with a seatbelt.

“It’s also vital to remind pupils to catch their designated bus. Where two buses operate on the same route pupils might think about catching the ‘later’ bus. But this could lead to overcrowding, which isn’t acceptable. Bus passes are colour coded and clearly show the pupil’s name and the number of their designated bus”

If your child qualifies for school transport and is moving to the next school year at the same school, we will automatically update your details. Providing your home address has not changed we will continue to make the necessary travel arrangements. If your child has finished year 11 and is returning to sixth form you must reapply for transport, your previous arrangements will not automatically continue.

If your child's travel pass has been lost or damaged it must be replaced immediately. There is a £5.00 charge to replace each card.
