Reminder to apply for Food and Drink Hospitality Rates Relief 2026-27

Food and Drink Hospitality Rate Relief Scheme
The Welsh Government has published the Guidance on the new Food and Drink Hospitality Rate Relief Scheme which came into effect on 1 April 2026 and Conwy County Borough Council is reminding local businesses not to miss out.
From 1 April 2026 eligible businesses could qualify for 15% business rates relief under this new Scheme.
Premises which can submit applications for this relief are occupied food and drink hospitality properties, such as pubs, restaurants, cafés, bars and live music venues across Wales.
Eligible occupied businesses will qualify for 15% rates relief for the 2026-27 financial year, but the amount of relief under scheme will be capped at £110,000 per business across the whole of Wales.
Councillor Chris Cater, Cabinet Member Finance and Strategic Planning, said, "It is important that eligible businesses do not forget to apply for this significant, targeted relief. Checking eligibility is easy and the application forms for 2026/2027 are on the Council's website."
If you think you may be eligible for this relief but have not yet made an application in respect of the current 2026-27 financial year, please complete a form on the Council’s website Food and Drink Hospitality Rates Relief 2026-27 - Conwy County Borough Council
