Rhos Point

Conwy County Borough Council has applied for permission to demolish buildings at Rhos Point in Rhos on Sea.

Following a successful bid for funding from the UK Government’s Local Growth Fund (LGF), the Council has applied to remove the eyesore buildings, which have been subjected to repeated break-ins and vandalism.  The Grade II listed Tower is not part of the proposed demolition.

The application will now be subject to the usual planning process.

Cllr Sharon Doleman, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy and Communications, said, “Clearing the site will undoubtably make it easier for future redevelopment, so we will continue to work with the preferred developer.  Any future proposal for the site will be subject to a separate planning application.”

If permission is granted, the Council intends to demolish the buildings and make the site safe.
