Supported Housing in Colwyn Bay

Supported Housing in Colwyn Bay
Stori has announced the opening of nine newly delivered low-level supported housing flats in Colwyn Bay, providing a vital stepping stone for people moving on from homelessness and towards independent living.
The scheme was commissioned by Stori in partnership with a local developer as part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to increasing the supply of safe, stable housing for people who need it most. The new flats offer a supportive, independence-focused environment for individuals who no longer require high-level intervention but would benefit from light-touch support as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
Working in close partnership with Conwy County Borough Council, Stori will support residents to settle into their new homes and build the skills and confidence needed to sustain long-term tenancies. This includes practical support with budgeting, tenancy management, wellbeing, community connection, and everyday life skills, all designed to empower people to live safely and independently.
The development reflects a shared ambition between Stori and the Conwy Council to reduce homelessness, prevent repeat homelessness, and ensure people receive the right support at the right time, to ensure they move smoothly from temporary or emergency accommodation into a stable home of their own.
Andrew Jones, Stori’s Director of Development said, “This scheme shows what’s possible when we work in partnership to create the right homes and support for people moving on from homelessness, helping individuals move forward with greater stability and confidence.”
Cllr Stephen Price, Conwy's Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “I’m really pleased to see these flats opening in Colwyn Bay. This development represents a real step forward in providing safe, secure, and supportive homes for some of those in our community who need it most. I am delighted to see this vision become a reality, and we are grateful for the strong partnership with Stori and all those who have worked on the project to make it happen.”
The new development is now welcoming its first residents, marking an important milestone in the ongoing work to strengthen housing options and support vulnerable people across the region.
