UKSPF supports toilet renovations

Public toilets

Eleven public toilets across Conwy county have been refurbished or repaired thanks to funding from the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.

Conwy’s Environment, Roads and Facilities Service was awarded £134,467.67 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to carry out work to make sure the public can continue to access toilet facilities at locations across the county.

Improvements were carried out at 11 facilities in total, from decorating and replacing locks, doors or windows to a full refurbishment of the toilets at the Great Orme Visitor centre.

Cllr Mike Priestley, Cabinet Member for Environment, Roads & Infrastructure said, “I’m pleased that this funding was available to make meaningful improvements to facilities in communities across the whole county - facilities that are valued by local residents, businesses and visitors. Along with the improvements and necessary repairs to our facilities, public conveniences in Trefriw and Ysbyty Ifan have been upgraded ready to be handed over to the community to take over running and maintenance.”

The improvements were made possible with the funding from the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.

Public conveniences at the following locations were included in the project:

Cae’r Melwr cemetery; Rhandir Hedd Cemetery; Cayley Promenade, Rhos-on-Sea; Deganwy; Great Orme Visitor Centre; North Shore Paddling Pool and North Western Gardens, Llandudno; Pensarn; Pont y Pair, Betws y Coed; Trefriw and Ysbyty Ifan.
