At their meeting on the 18th February 2025 Conwy County Borough Council Cabinet approved that the proposal to Amalgamate Ysgol Glan Gele and Ysgol Sant Elfod be moved forward to the Statutory Notice stage.

Whether or not objections are received within the statutory period; the proposal will be determined by the Authority at the end of the 28-day objection period.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Section 41 and 43 of the School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Act 2013 and the School Organisation Code 2018 that Conwy County Borough Council, having consulted such persons as required, propose as indicated below:

1. Conwy County Borough Council propose to establish a new English Medium, mixed sex school to be maintained by Conwy County Borough Council on the sites of the existing Ysgol Glan Gele and Ysgol Sant Elfod schools, for pupils aged between 3-11 years old.

As a result of the proposals outlined above:

2. Conwy County Borough Council propose to discontinue YSGOL GLAN GELE, FFORDD Y MORFA, ABERGELE, LL22 7NU. The school is currently maintained by Conwy County Borough Council. It is proposed to implement this proposal on 31 August 2026.

3. Conwy County Borough Council propose to discontinue YSGOL SANT ELFOD, FFORDD Y MORFA, ABERGELE, LL22 7NU. The school is currently maintained by Conwy County Borough Council. It is proposed to implement this proposal on 31 August 2026.
