Public charging points

There are public charging points in Conwy County. Zap-Map will tell you where the charge points are, whether they are operational and how much they cost to charge.  It also has a tool to help you calculate the time and cost to charge at home and on the public network.

The Council includes electric vehicle (EV) charge points as part of any car park development projects.

We are also creating a strategy for public electric vehicle charging, which will look at providing charge points in all our public car parks.

Charging at home

You must not charge your car on the road if the cable crosses the pavement or part of the road.  It is an offence under the Highways Act 1980 to run an electric cable over, across or along a highway, including the pavement.  You may charge your car on a private driveway.

We are creating a strategy for public electric vehicle charging, which will look at options for on-street charging.
