Next Stage for Place Plan
A consultation starts this week to recognise the Towyn and Kinmel Bay Place Plan as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG).
The Towyn and Kinmel Bay Place Plan was approved and launched in October 2022.
Created by local partnership TKB Voice following consultation with the local community, the Towyn & Kinmel Bay Place Plan sets out priorities for the community over the next few years.
TKB Voice are now working to get the Place Plan officially recognised as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG). This means the plan will be recognised as an official document and must be taken into account when new ideas are considered for the area. If approved, this would be the first Place Plan in Conwy to have SPG status.
The local community are invited to submit their views on whether the Towyn and Kinmel Bay Plan should be adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
Cllr Emily Owen, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory Services, said: “The Towyn and Kinmel Bay Place Plan is the result of significant community involvement and support from internal and external services. I support the approach taken and the final Place Plan being adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance and I urge the local community to submit their views.”
The consultation takes place for 4 weeks until 26th May 2023.
Paper copies of the consultation and the Place Plan are available to view at St Mary’s Church in Towyn, Kinmel Bay Library and Kinmel Bay Resource Centre. The consultation will also be available online at https://conwy.oc2.uk/
