Whatever your motivation, being a local councillor can be a very rewarding experience. It gives you an opportunity to help your local community, make changes happen and be part of the team responsible for the future and well-being of the County Borough of Conwy and all the people that live, work and visit here.
- Do you care passionately about your local community?
- Is there something you want to change?
- Are you ready to take challenging decisions?
Why not stand for what you care about and become a local councillor? Councillors are elected by people in their community to represent them and make decisions on their behalf. Being a councillor is rewarding, challenging and enjoyable and you can change people’s lives for the better. It’s important that councillors are like the people who elect them so that they can represent all the different views in the community and take decisions that benefit everyone.
If you want to know more about the role of being a local councillor, you can view a number of videos of the current Conwy County Borough Councillors talking about their reasons for standing, the struggles and achievements, and the support that is provided.
