Conwy’s 2018 Local Housing Strategy vision is for ‘People in Conwy to have access to affordable, appropriate and good quality accommodation that enhances their quality of life’.

Much has been achieved since we published our strategy in 2018. For example, we have delivered 523 units of affordable housing via the Social Housing Grant programme, bought 162 empty properties back into use and developed Conwy’s rapid rehousing plan.

It has been a challenging environment with the Coronavirus Pandemic, changes in legislation and the increase in the cost of living The Local Housing Strategy Key Achievements 2023 report sets out how we addressed the challenges we faced and details what we have achieved against the planned targets. Delivering solutions was something that could have only be achieved by working in the effective partnership across both the public and private housing sectors.

The Local Housing Strategy has been developed and, is owned by the Conwy Strategic Housing Partnership. We want continue to make the best use of our joint skills and resources; to ensure that our business objectives remain aligned; and ultimately, continue to do the best we can to improve the housing options in Conwy County into 2024 - 2029.
