Draft Housing and Homelessness Strategy 2026-31- Consultation

Our new strategy has been designed to integrate 5 priority work areas to build on our success over the last strategic period and meet our existing and new statutory duties

  1. Maximise the supply of affordable housing
  2. Bring empty properties back into use
  3. Provide timely, targeted housing support
  4. Increase affordable and suitable options in the private sector,
  5. Deliver an effective Homeless Prevention service by implementing a Rapid Rehousing approach

Each priority work area will have a delivery plan which will be updated annually to reflect emerging needs, policy change and lessons learned.
