Green Flag Award Parks

The Green Flag Award Scheme was launched in 1996 as a way of creating a national standard of excellence for Parks and Green Spaces. The award recognises and rewards the hard work of dedicated parks staff, communities and Friends Groups and raises the profile of these high quality green spaces. It is also seen as a way of encouraging others to achieve the same high environmental standards, creating a benchmark of excellence in recreational green areas.
