Why are you proposing these changes?

We are proposing these changes improve safety, active travel links as well as improved performance of highway for motorists.

I live on Marine Road – how do I get to the A470/college/Rhos on Sea?

There are alternative routes for vehicles towards the A470, the college and Rhos on Sea via Glan y Mor Road. There will be improved pedestrian access from Marine Drive towards the college and schools.

How will these changes affect traffic on nearby streets if Marine Road is closed to through traffic?

If Marine Road is closed to traffic it will become a cul-de-sac, reducing traffic and improving safety. An assessment of the impact on surrounding roads will be done during the next step in the detailed design.

Won’t this make Llandudno Road and Penrhyn Hill roundabout much busier and more dangerous?

No – Will reduce congestion and has been designed to improve safety whilst also providing active travel links.

Where will the bus stop be moved to?

Bus stop will be re-located to a safer area only a few meters up from existing location.

How long will this project take?

We aim to secure funding and start work on the scheme in 2026/2027

Will this affect school/college traffic?

This scheme proposes improved active travel links which could reduce road traffic during peak hours around school times.
