Common Land Searches were originally requested by submitting Form CR21, but since 1st October 2007 Common Land searches are now answered by completing a CON29 (O) and requesting Question 22, please include a plan and a fee of £16.80 inclusive of VAT. Form CR21, is now obsolete.
Local Land Charges Fees
Question 22 will confirm whether the land has been registered as common land/village and whether it is subject to rights of common and/or ownership claims.
Question 22 can be submitted electronically or by post.
You can electronically submit Question 22 on the Form CON29 (O) as an additional question,when submitting a full local authority search on our on-line facility. The fee is £16.80 inclusive of VAT.
Please ensure you enclose the following:
- Form CON29(O) in duplicate
When submitting Question 22, please ensure that the correct fee of £16.80 inclusive of VAT is enclosed together with plans in duplicate.

In order to avoid delays, all searches must be submitted with a plan showing the boundary of the property/area clearly marked. It is important that the plan also shows the surrounding roads/properties.
The aim of the Local Land Charges Unit is to dispatch replies of Question 22 between 2-3 working days.
