We will be carrying out essential website maintenance in the afternoon which will affect some functionality. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause and will do all we can to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.

Your local Family Team has a worker focussed on supporting families of children with disabilities and additional needs

Our Disability Family Workers are based in the 5 local Family Teams. We are here to provide support for families of children with disabilities and additional needs

  • Groups to bring families together, such as ‘Let’s Get Sensory’ sessions
  • Groups and courses to help parents with family life
  • Work with you on what matters to you, and your family
  • Provide practical advice and resources, for example calm boxes, story boards, visuals
  • Open doors to other local support
  • Host activities and drop-ins in the Family Centres by other organisations supporting families of children with disabilities and additional needs
  • We work closely with the Children with Disabilities team in Social Services, the Child Development Centre, schools, and charities who work with families of children with disabilities and additional needs
