The Occupational Therapy Intake team is staffed by a lead Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistants.

We offer information, advice and assistance to promote safety and independence in the home environment.

We will work with you to help you to overcome barriers that may be stopping you from doing the things you want or need to do to live a safer, more independent life.

If we visit you at home we will work with you to identify solutions to any difficulties you may be experiencing with regards to your day to day living.  We will talk to you about what matters to you.

This may be to do with getting in and out of your property, accessing a suitable toilet or using a washing facility.  We may show you a different technique or provide you with a piece of equipment or a handrail to help, for example.

The Occupational Therapy team focus on short-term, preventative solutions.  If we think that your needs are more long-term, we will pass your details on to a different team who will be better able to address your needs.

The Occupational Therapy Intake team can be contacted through the Single Point of Access (SPOA) who will have a conversation with you over the telephone. They will also be able to assist with signposting to relevant agencies for support and, where appropriate, refer on to the Occupational Therapy Intake team.

The telephone number for SPOA is 0300 456 1111
