Trading Standards fake goods 23 Sept 2025

Dangerous illicit and fake tobacco and cigarettes

Following complaints from concerned residents, Conwy Council Trading Standards Officers with support from North Wales Police inspected OK Stores, Conway Road, Llandudno Junction and Llandudno Mini Mart, Mostyn Street, Llandudno. During the inspection Trading Standards Officers found and seized significant quantities of:

  • counterfeit and dangerous children’s toys
  • dangerous illicit and fake tobacco and cigarettes
  • dangerous and illegal vapes

along with counterfeit UK currency.

Officers immediately closed both shops and applied to Llandudno Magistrates Court to close both shops for a further 3 months.

On 23 September, Magistrates granted a three-month immediate closure order for OK Store, Llandudno Junction and adjourned a decision for Mini Mart, Llandudno, with the shop staying shut for 14 days, with the potential for a further three months closure.
