Replacement Local Development Plan

Deposit Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP)

The closing date for submitting comments on the Deposit Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP) has been extended.

Members of the public now have until 22 March to get involved and submit their feedback.

The RLDP is a key planning document that sets out where new homes, employment sites, and green spaces will be located across Conwy County (excluding the Eryri National Park area).  It will guide development in the plan area up to 2033, replacing the current Local Development Plan.

The public consultation opened in January, and seven drop-in sessions have taken place.

All the information is available online at www.conwy.gov.uk/RLDP and hard copies are available to view at Coed Pella offices and local libraries until 22 March.

The findings of the consultation will be reviewed and presented through the Council’s democratic process.  Councillors will be asked to endorse the Deposit Replacement Local Development Plan.
It will then be submitted to Welsh Government - Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) for independent examination.

Background:
All local authorities are required to prepare a local development plan (LDP) for their area. Conwy County Borough Council has prepared a Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP) for the County covering the period 2018 to 2033.
The RLDP has evolved through a number of key plan stages since the process started in 2018. More information at Replacement Local Development Plan - Conwy County Borough Council
