Can I claim?

Council Tax Reduction is designed to help people on a low income to pay their Council Tax. Anybody who is liable for Council Tax can claim this benefits. These include; pensioners, sick or unemployed people and single parents. You may also qualify for assistance even if you work and your income is below a certain level.

How much help can I get?

Currently you can get a reduction of up to 100% on your council tax. How much reduction you get depends on your circumstances e.g. your income, your household circumstances and your capital/savings. You can find out what you may be entitled to by using our benefits calculator.

How to apply

Make sure you apply as soon as possible. You will need to complete a claim form and provide additional evidence.

If your circumstances change

Any change in your circumstances could affect your claim. If you don’t update us in time, you could miss out or have to pay money back. Please use the appropriate form below to inform us of the change in your circumstances.
