start content

If you’ve applied for your Blue Badge online and provided your email address, we’ll email you to confirm we’ve received your application. Make sure you check your junk or spam emails.

It may take up to 12 weeks to process your application.

We will not refund the cost of parking tickets while you're waiting for your Blue Badge to arrive.

If we need more information

If we need more information about your application, we’ll contact you on the phone number or email address you provided when you applied.

We may ask you to attend an assessment to discuss your disability or condition. This will help us decide if you’re eligible for a badge.

If this is the case, we’ll contact you to book an assessment appointment.

When an application is rejected

Our decision on eligibility is final. There is no appeals process. However, if you have additional evidence then you can request that we reconsider your application.

We aim to complete the review and give you a decision within 28 working days.

Please note: The rules about eligibility for a Blue Badge have changed considerably. Even if you've been issued with a Blue Badge in the past, this does not mean that you will be issued one again.

If our decision remains unchanged after the review, you can submit a new application in 6 months or if your condition significantly deteriorates.

If your circumstances change

You can reapply for a badge if your circumstances change and you meet the eligibility criteria.
