Funded through the Rural Development Plan for Wales (RDP) as part of the Welsh Government and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).  Conwy Cynhaliol is Conwy’s Local Action Group who is working with Conwy County Borough Council to deliver the LEADER 2014 – 2020 programme in Conwy. 

It is a 7 year investment programme, which aims to improve resilience and promote transformational change in agriculture, forestry and rural communities.  Bringing nearly a billion pounds to rural Wales, it will support a wide range of activities which: 

• Improve competitiveness in the agriculture and forestry sector,
• Safeguard and enhance the rural environment,
• Foster competitive and sustainable rural businesses and thriving rural communities.

Project activity will be delivered under each of the 5 LEADER Themes: 

• Adding Value to local identity and natural and cultural resources,
• Facilitating pre-commercial development, business partnerships and short supply chains,
• Exploring new ways of providing non-statutory local services,
• Renewable energy at community level,
• Exploitation of digital technology.
