Conwy is committed to improving digital connectivity across the county as part of its Digital Strategy. While we do not provide or operate broadband or mobile networks, we work with regional and national partners to help improve digital infrastructure and access to services.
Responsibility for broadband and mobile network investment lies with commercial telecommunications providers and government-funded programmes. However, we actively support initiatives that aim to improve connectivity for residents, businesses and communities across Conwy.
Our activities include:
- Supporting the expansion of high-speed fibre broadband and mobile network coverage.
- Seeking funding opportunities to improve public Wi-Fi access and promote digital inclusion.
- Supporting the development of digital infrastructure and emerging technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT) and LoRaWAN networks.
- Working with telecommunications providers, government programmes and regional partners, including Ambition North Wales, to identify areas where future investment may be needed.
