Employer Engagement

Employer engagement remains a key part of the Hub's programme.

The Hub continued to work closely with Conwy County Borough Council, with participants going into support worker roles and roles within the school catering team.

The Hub collaborated with and jointly funded a coach driver training course with Alpine Travel, the largest independently owned coach operator in North Wales.  This successfully resulted in a number of participants working with the company, including one who is now happily driving people around Europe on their holidays!

The collaboration extended to the organisation of a North West and North Wales Rail Personal Track Safety training programme which resulted in two participants gaining employment within the rail construction sector, and helped others secure employment with Morson, the third largest engineering recruitment company in the world.

A programme of online information sessions was introduced with participants invited to attend to find out more about working within the health and social care sector, resulting in four vacancies being filled within the Conwy health and social care team.

The Hub also started working on a Guaranteed Interview Scheme with Conwy County Borough Council which will enable participants to have an interview with the Council.  This only received approval at the end of the financial year so it will be implemented during 2023.
