Careers / Job Fairs

In light of the challenges faced by both businesses and job seekers during Covid, the Hub organised two job fairs in 2022/23 with the aim of promoting the recruitment and career opportunities across the region and helping businesses build back from the pandemic and boost the local economy.

Conwy Job Expo

Conwy Job Expo was a one-stop event for employability held in May 2022 at The Barn in Eirias Events Centre, Colwyn Bay.

The all-sector event brought together employers that were actively recruiting with job seekers, as well as colleges, business support teams and training providers for those wanting to explore a new direction or professional and personal development.  There were also workshops delivered by Working Wales which covered themes from interview techniques to CV writing.

Organised in partnership with Working Wales which is delivered by Careers Wales, the DWP and Conwy Business Support, the event was hailed as an outstanding success attracting over 70 businesses and organisations and over 170 job seekers.

Conwy Careers Fair

Having secured additional funding from the Welsh Government's Young Person's Guarantee, the Hub organised the Conwy Careers Fair in March 2023 which was dedicated to helping and supporting 16-24 year olds into employment and/or training to develop lifelong skills.

Held in March 2023, the event was run in partnership with Creating Enterprise, Conwy Business Support, DWP and Working Wales which is delivered by Careers Wales and was another overwhelming success with over 75 businesses and organisations from educational and training courses, and business with apprenticeships and career opportunities exhibiting to 482 visitors.

The Hub also provided free entertainment with an inflatable assault course and an iBox Games Bus, and there were a number of exhibitors who also had interactive stands including Nintendo North Wales, WRU and CELS which provides character education sessions to develop resilience, teamwork and confidence along with other practical skills through fun, practical activities.
