Our Household Recycling Centres are more likely to be closed due to adverse weather conditions during winter opening hours. We aim to keep these sites open and only close them to keep residents and staff safe.
Please note: It may not be possible to notify residents with appointments of site closures during weekends or in the event of sudden changes in weather. It is your responsibility to monitor weather conditions and make bookings in line with the guidance below.
These guidelines are especially important for the sites at Abergele and Rhyl where strong winds are a particular problem.

Yellow Weather Warning

It is possible that some or all of the Recycling Parks in the affected area will be closed while the weather warning is in force.
We recommend only making a booking for a site outside the affected area or for a date and time when the weather warning is not in force.

It is probable that some or all of the Recycling Parks in the affected area will be closed while the weather warning is in force.

Red Weather Warning

All Recycling Parks in the affected area will be closed while the weather warning is in force.
We strongly advise against making a booking while the weather warning is in force.

Christmas and New Year
The Household Recycling Centres are closed on:
- Christmas Day (25th December)
- Boxing Day (26th December)
- New Year’s Day (1st January)
Longer opening times: The Household Recycling Centres are open from 9am to 5pm from 27 December to 31 December.
Normal opening hours (winter) start again on 2 January.
Bank Holiday Weekends
Apart from Christmas and New Year, there are no changes to Household Recycling Centre opening hours for other bank holidays or public holidays such as Easter and August bank holiday.
