What can go in my garden waste?
The kerbside garden waste collection is for:
- Grass cuttings
- Small plants and twigs
- Non-invasive weeds
How is it collected, and when?
If you want to receive a garden waste collection, you will need to purchase re-usable garden waste bags from your nearest library, these cost £1.50 each. You can leave up to 6 bags out for collection on your fortnightly garden waste collection day. Please make sure that all garden waste is fully contained within the bags. Bags with waste protruding from the top may be refused by collection crews.
What we don't collect:
- Large branches
- Garden furniture or tools
- Invasive weeds such as Japanese Knotweed or Giant Hogweed that cannot be composted by law. If you need advice on dealing with invasive plants, please click here for guidance issued by Welsh Government.
What if I have a lot of garden waste?
Larger quantities of garden waste (as outlined above) can be taken to a Household Recycling Centre for disposal. You can also book and pay for a Bulky Garden Waste Collection.
Christmas Collection Suspension
Garden waste is not collected in Christmas Week or New Year Week, if you need to dispose of garden waste during this period you should take it to a Household Recycling Centre. Collections re-start in the second week of January. Please refer to your calendar or check your collection day for more information.
Real Christmas Trees
Real Christmas trees will be collected on the first scheduled collection day after the Christmas suspension. Please refer to your calendar or check your collection day for more information.
