Course aims and objectives
By the end of the workshop learners will be able to:
- aware of health and safety legislation, regulations and good practice relative to early years settings
- understand employers and employee responsibilities within the legislation and regulations
- hazard identification
- understand what a risk assessment is
- how to complete a practical risk assessment
- complete a risk assessment document
- identify fire hazards within early years settings
- understand staff roles in fire prevention
- understand staff roles and responsibilities in the event of a fire
- identify manual handling tasks within the workplace
- reduce risks when carrying out manual handling
