The Paediatric First Aid course is primarily designed for those who are responsible for children under the age of 12. The training is 12 hours and meets the requirements needed by CIW for registered settings in Wales.
Following this course you will:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the Paediatric First Aider.
- Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child.
- Understand how to recognise signs and symptoms, administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness.
- Understand how to recognise signs and symptoms, administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child.
Participants must be physically able to perform the CPR element. Failure to perform this under HSE (Health & Safety Executive) will not count towards a qualified first aider at the site as standards fall short of what is expected for a first aider and will not receive a certificate.
