Course aims and objectives:

  • This course is aimed at those who wish to acquire more positive ways of managing children’s behaviour both prosocial and antisocial.

Course Content:

  • A very brief overview of general psychology
  • A very brief overview of behavioural psychology
  • A look at the “8 key management tools” of behaviour management including descriptive community, praise, good instructions and rewards

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the two main ways in which children learn behaviour
  • Describe at least three ways in which good behaviour can be encouraged
  • Describe at least one way in which unacceptable behaviour can be discouraged or controlled

What is expected of me?

  • When you attend training sessions, you are representing yourself, your setting and the childcare sector. The partnership will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour of any kind. We expect delegates to show respect to their tutors and fellow attendees by ensuring they are not disruptive or do not behave inappropriately during training sessions.
  • Complaints received against individuals or settings will result in your withdrawal from future courses.

What happens if I book onto a course and cannot attend?

If you are unable to attend you are required to give 7 days notice via email. If you do not follow the correct cancellation procedures or failure to attend sessions will result in the following fees:

  • Free courses - £20 cancellation/non attendance fee 
  • Subsidised courses - £20 cancellation/non attendance fee and non-refundable course fee
