The Makaton Awareness (or Taster) Session gives participants a broad general background into what Makaton is and how it can be used to support communication, and introduces the signs and symbols for around 40 useful everyday words including 12 tailored to a particular theme or user group.
The Session is delivered online in real time and lasts 2 hours. Participants must access the session with a Laptop, PC or Tablet with a camera, mic and speakers; Smartphones are not suitable.
Learners receive digital resources to support them during the Session and use as a reference going forward, and a PDF certificate of attendance on completion.
