By the end of the awareness session learners will be able to:

  • Understand their legal obligation about providing food information to the consumer (parent or child)
  • Understand the importance a food allergen assessment covering ingredients and cross contamination.
  • Understand importance of writing and following policies and procedures in relation to food information (allergen information)
  • Understand how to undertake an assessment of the allergens in the food, cross contaminants in the food and how to document this and communicate it to the customer.

Please note this session does not cover first aid or treatment of a reaction to ingestion of an allergen.
